3 DAY REFRESH



After 3 weeks off of work and developing some bad eating habits I was more than ready to give myself the challenge of completing the 3 Day Refresh!

What is the 3 Day Refresh You ask....

I have to say that this is EXACTLY how I feel the program was. I never felt anything more than slight hunger pains and I feel like I definitely broke out of some bad eating patterns and that I can enter into my next round of the 21 Day Fix with confidence!

Here is a summary of my experience using the program!

Day 1:
6:15 - 10 oz cold filtered water
7:00 - Breakfast! Today I chose 1/2 pear for my fruit option. And then of course I got to have my serving of the amazing Shakeology! I can say that I've never drank shakeology with just water. What can I say, I like making fancy recipes! Lol. So when I blended my chocolate vegan with 10 oz water and a few ice cubes I was nervous (lots of nerves going into this, lol.) I shouldn't have been surprised cuz this stuff rocks, but it tasted SOOOO good with just water! Love my chocolate vegan Shakeology.

So now it was off to work with my daily nutrition in tow.


8:45 - Time for my AM green tea. Coconut flavored for me! Gotta love trader Joe's.
10:15 - I was actually still feeling good from breakfast and tea so I was fine with this being just the fiber sweep. I didn't know WHAT to expect. I've heard all sorts of stuff. And.....it's NOT THAT BAD! Kinda lemony. I liked it!
11:00 - Ok, note the tummy is grumbling.....but I still have an hour and a half till lunch time. It wasn't an "I could eat my arm hungry" but just a little grumbling. Drink your water, Quiana, drink your water!
12:30 - Yay! Time for lunch. I'm also nervous about the Vanilla Fresh at this point...I didn't know what to expect. I blended it up with some water and it WAS ACTUALLY GOOD! I mean, it's no chocolate Shakeology, but it wasn't bad at all! Had the other half of my pear, 5 carrot sticks, and 2 tablespoons of hummus.
1:00 - Oh crap! I'm hungry ALREADY?! Drink the water, drink the water. Again, not dying of hunger, but definite grumble.
3:00 - Snack! 5 more baby carrots and 2 tablespoons of hummus! WATER! (Noticing a theme here?)
4:00 - Afternoon tea, herbal! This is optional, but I love afternoon tea, so I was excited!
5:40 - Home from work! My plan was to wait until 6:30 to eat. Nope, not waiting. Lol. My meal of choice from the cook was the coconut steamed veggies. Of my gosh, DELISH! I loved it! And another Vanilla Fresh shake! Nom nom! WATER!
9:00 - Evening tea, herbal. Again optional. But I might as well have some nice tea while I'm on my team call! WATER!
11:00 - Time for sleep. Slightly hungry, but not ravenous. Only two more days to go!

Day 2:
6:15: Water
7:30 - Breakfast: I am a creature of habit; so Day 2 looked pretty much like Day one as far as what I ate. I did change my fruit serving and had a strawberries instead of a pear. You're allowed 12 strawberries for your fruit serving, so I blended 6 into my Shakeology and ate the other 6 on their own
10:15 - Morning tea was a bit of a challenge today because I had physical therapy before I got to work, so this put my timing already a bit different than the day before. But surprisingly I was already less hungry than I was the day before!
11:30 - Morning Fiber Sweep. I still don't mind the taste of this that much.
1:15 - Lunch time! Today I included a pear into my lunch along with my Vanilla Fresh Shake, baby carrots, and hummus!
3:45 - Things got crazy at work and I didn't get my afternoon snack until 3:45. Another round of baby carrots and hummus
4:45 - Made my afternoon tea right before I left work and took it on the road!
6:00 - Time for dinner. I was going to switch up my recipe from the night before, but I enjoyed those coconut veggies so much that I decided to go ahead and do those again. I also got a little creative with my Vanilla Fresh shake and blended in some cinnamon and nutmeg. Yummy!!

Day 3:
7:30 - Water
8:30 - Shakeology with 1/2 banana blended in. Yummy!

I knew today was going to be a bit more challenging to stick to a schedule since I was in church, but I took the things I needed with me and did the best that I could to keep myself sustained and not feeling starving!

9:45 - Had my green tea!
10:45 - Went and shook up my fiber sweep real quick before services started at church and sucked it down.
1:30 - First snack of the day. Usually this happens before noon, so this was a little different. I did some things around church though so that I could delay getting home and eating my lunch. You're supposed to space at least an hour in between meals.
2:45 - Lunch was the Vanilla Fresh shake blended again with cinnamon and nutmeg, the other 1/2 of my banana from my breakfast, baby carrots, and hummus!

At this point I took a nap and then had to be back at church by 6:30 for some evening services, so I didn't have time to make my dinner before I left. I knew this was going to put me really hungry later. But I just hung on and made sure to continue to guzzle water!

9:15 - Got home and made dinner! I decided to try the lemony green beans tonight and it was sooo good! Vanilla Fresh Shake with cinnamon and nutmeg!

Results:

I am so incredibly happy with my results. Unfortunately I didn't have a measuring tape so I wasn't able to take measurements, but I was able to take my weight of course and I made sure to wear the same clothes I wore on day one!

Official Weight:
Starting: 148.8
Ending: 143.2

I couldn't believe it! 5.6 pounds gone in 3 days. And more importantly, the bloating that I'd been experiencing with my bad eating was gone!

My overall review:

Although this 3 day cleanse is challenging, it's nothing that anyone can't handle. Never at one point did I feel so hungry that I wanted to gnaw my arm off! I think that these days we're so used to always feeling full that we don't know what it is to feel a little hungry and when we have any type of hunger pains we automatically go to the food. Guys, it's OK to feel a little hungry sometimes. It's not going to kill us. What I did to get through those moments was to make sure to drink tons of water. It was actually a great reminder for me to get my water in each day. I had a total of 100oz of water. And that's in addition to the tea that I had during the day! I DEFINITELY recommend this refresh! I feel much more in control of my eating habits and it's given me a confidence in myself that I can honestly do anything I put my mind to.
